A Pest Control Technician inspects, identifies, and treats pest infestations for residential and commercial clients while ensuring long-term prevention. Key duties include conducting thorough site surveys, applying treatments safely using specialised equipment and maintaining digital service reports. Technicians act as our technical experts, providing critical advice to customers to prevent future infestations while strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
You must possess a full UK driving licence and GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade 4 (Level C) or above. While specific industry experience is not required, candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving and customer service skills. Once hired, you will undergo intensive training to achieve industry-recognised certifications, such as the BPCA Level 1 and 2 Awards in Pest Management. This ensures you are fully qualified in pest biology, legislation, and the safe use of biocides.
A Hygiene Technician performs professional deep-cleaning and disinfection services, focusing on hazardous waste removal and clinical infection control. This role involves tackling hygiene issues like bird dropping removal and trauma scene cleanups using specialised equipment. The role requires physical stamina and a commitment to maintaining public health by eliminating contaminants and restoring safe, sanitary conditions.
You will follow a structured development path starting with the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) Level 1 qualification, typically completed within your first 13 weeks. As you progress, you will work toward the RSPH Level 2 certification alongside specialised training in biohazard remediation and infection control. These qualifications ensure you meet the legal and safety standards required to manage hazardous waste and operate in specialised public health environments.
Technicians in the UK typically earn a base salary between £26,500 and £29,800, with On-Target Earnings (OTE) ranging from £31,000 to £35,000. Roles in London often include an additional £2,000 weighting allowance. The total package includes a company vehicle, fuel card, and mobile phone. Salaries increase through a structured grading system as you progress from Trainee to Senior Technician and complete industry certifications.
