What is a Service Driver

Our Service Drivers are the face of our businesses. No two days are ever the same and you are the key point of contact for our customers within a specific geographical area delivering a wide range of our services. We are the experts in what we do and our Service Drivers play a key part in this.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys being on the road, driving and meeting new people, someone who plans their own days and likes to get a job done well. Our Service Drivers do a lot of driving, loading and unloading, so although you don’t need to be athletes please be aware that this can be a physically tiring role.

At Rentokil Initial we recognise that our frontline colleagues are at the share end of customer service delivery and as a result we pride ourselves on recruiting the right people, training them properly and looking after them.

Why Work as a Service Driver - Rewards and Opportunities

What’s it like in the real world?

  • We’re passionate about delivering excellent customer service and you need to be too.
  • Your day will be busy - driving a commercial vehicle (transit-sized) from customer to customer, maybe on a city centre route or maybe a longer rural route.
  • Even on a ‘bad’ day you will need to give the time and enthusiasm required to engage with every one of your customers, smile, say hello and identify any opportunities to generate new business.
  • You need to be comfortable working on your own, yet will be required to give daily activity feedback to your line manager on any issues encountered during your day, this may relate to considerations for changes to your route or to customer issues/requests.
  • Many of your customer sites will be large, e.g. schools, office buildings or even government buildings, which may require multiple product servicing. Therefore a certain level of physical fitness and stamina is required to undertake the CDR role.
