• What do you do all day? - I sell, manage and coach my team. As Area Sales Manager for Initial Washroom Hygiene, I look after a small team of Sales Consultants whilst visiting my own clients to earn extra commission! As a result of constant contact from my team and my clients, my day is very busy and I am regularly in the field as opposed to being chained to a desk.

  • What training did you receive when you joined RI? - I received 6 weeks' training in the Sales Academy when I initially joined as a Rookie Sales Consultant - a very comprehensive sales training process that included products and service training in the field and in the classroom. Since then I have attended a number of internally-run courses, including Aspiring Managers, to improve my skill set for management.

  • Talk us through your career so far - I quickly graduated from a Rookie Sales Consultant to a Sales Consultant, before progressing to the Advanced and Senior grading levels because of my performance level. I always knew what I had to achieve to reach the next grading level. I have always been in top five sales performers in the UK. In 2018 I was promoted to Area Sales Manager, which brings the new challenge of people management.

  • Where do you want to go from here? - I have only been in my current management position for a little while, but I know there are plenty of opportunities to go further in this business in the future. Who knows, I might become the UK Managing Director ;-)

  • What makes you a Rentokil Initial person? - I share the same values as my colleagues - service, relationships and teamwork.

  • What advice would you give to Sales Consultants? - Who wouldn't want to work for an award-winning, FTSE 100 company? Rentokil Initial is truly an amazing place to work, with mostly bright and crazy people! Rentokil Initial is not just a place of work, it's a place where you feel a part of a family. There are incredible career opportunities with great training and support all the way to the top!
